This family-run site is surprisingly peaceful, considering its location just off one of the main roads into Royan. Over more than 40 years, the owner has planted a large number of tree varieties to mark and separate the pitches and they now provide a good deal of shade. The site has 80 pitches for touring units, mainly between 80-95 sq.m. Most have 6/10A electricity (some may need long leads) and access to water close at hand. Royan, with all its noise and sophistication and well-used beaches, is only 6 km. away, but there are many quieter possibilities.
Royan’s neighbour, Saint Georges-de-Didonne, has its own character, with a pleasant port and a wonderful long beach. La Palmyre to the northwest boasts France’s second largest zoo and has long beaches and an extensive forest (La Forêt de la Coubre), home to a variety of amusement and adventure parks and activity centres. Along the shore of the Gironde estuary to the south are more little villages and fishing ports including Talmont-sur-Gironde, one of Les Plus Beaux Villages de France, and Mescher with its Cité Troglodite.
