Le Lac is a member of the Campéole group and enjoys a fine location in the mountains of Haute-Provence. The site can be found at an altitude of 800 m. on the banks of the large Lac de Serre Ponçon and many of the site’s 300 pitches (192 for touring units) have fine views of the lake and the surrounding mountains. All are of a good size with electricity hook-ups (long leads may be needed) and ample water points. The access road down to the site (3 km) is fairly steep and winding but it is certainly worth the effort. The waters of the lake have an alluring blue-green hue and shelve gradually from the site’s beach. There is also an ecological swimming pool, using natural water, consistent with this stunning natural setting.

Other on-site amenities include a shop, restaurant and various sports facilities, notably volleyball and tennis. A number of pitches have lakeside locations and are particularly popular with fishermen. Watersports are popular and a hire service is offered, including canoes, electric boats and wakeboards. This is understandably a great area for hiking and mountain biking, with a number of excellent routes passing very close to the campsite. Directions to Campéole Le Lac

Site is near the village of St Vincent-les-Forts. From Gap, head south on N85, then join D900b following signs to Barcelonnette. Continue on this road along the Durance Valley passing the massive Barrage de Serre Ponçon and continue towards St Vincent-les-Forts. Site is well signed from here.
