Situated 30 km from Strasbourg and the ‘Route des Vins d’Alsace’, Camping Au Clair Ruisseau combines the attractions of big city life, the beauty of the wine-growing area of Alsace and a peaceful, natural setting. Once inside the gates of the campsite, you will be transported into a green, leafy setting with a lake within the site itself, and shaded by mature birch and chestnut trees. Its 63 spacious touring pitches, all with electricity, and 34 of which are fully serviced are tastefully interspersed with pods and chalets for rent.

Children will love to spend time at the mini-farm or ride horses who live in a field that forms part of the site. The lake, in which campers may swim, fish or take a rowing boat has a safe, shallow swimming area marked out. There is no bar or restaurant on site but on Saturdays, the local Alsace speciality ‘Flammenkuchen’, a dough base topped with cream, cheese and ham, prepared by the owners in the traditional way, is available to take away or eat in.

There are plans to renovate the sanitary blocks, which are perfectly usable and very clean. There is a large children’s play area with tunnels and rides. The family owned site offers information on local attractions within a radius of about 60 km including chateaux, the free Rhine ferry, cycle and walking tracks and the very popular ‘Ecomusee’. The village of Gerstheim is about 1.5 kilometres away and there are restaurants and bars here.

Two toilet blocks including accessible sanitary facilities and motorhome service point. Laundry facilities. Small shop with basic necessities, ice cream and refrigerator with chilled drinks. Lake swimming (shallow area marked out) and lake beach. Horse riding. Fishing. Boating. Wi-Fi (free on terrace, chargeable rest of site).

Directions to Camp Au Clair Ruisseau

From the N83 take the exit direction Erstein. Follow direction Erstein, Germany then Gerstheim. At the roundabout in Gerstheim take third exit signed ‘Camping’. Cross the village, go past the exit sign on the left (camping). After 300 metres, campsite entrance is on the left.
