Stara Hora has a beautiful location on the Orava artificial lake. It is in the northeast of Slovakia in the Tatra Mountains and attracts visitors from all over Europe, which creates a happy and sometimes noisy atmosphere. The site has its own pebble beach with a large grass area behind it for sunbathing. Autocamping Stara Hora is on steeply sloping ground with 200 grassy pitches, all for touring units and with 10A electricity. The lower pitches are level and have good views over the lake, pitches at the top are mainly used by tents.

The lake provides opportunities for fishing, boating and sailing and the area is good for hiking and cycling, and in winter it is a popular skiing area.

Facilities at Autocamping Stara Hora

The modern toilet block has British style toilets, open washbasins and controllable hot showers (free). It could be pressed in high season and hot water to the showers is only available from 07.00-10.00 and from 19.00-22.00. Shop for basics. Bar and lakeside bar. Small restaurant. Playground. Pedalo, canoe and rowing boat hire. Multi sports field, Table tennis, Communal BBQ area, Water-skiing. Fishing (with permit). Torch useful.

Directions to Autocamping Stara Hora

From Ruzomberok take E77 road north towards Trstena. Turn left in Tvrdosin on the 520 road towards Námestovo. Site is on the right.
