Alan Rogers Review of Aldridge Hill Camping in the Forest
Aldridge Camping in the Forest site is to be found between heathland, Blackwater Stream and Ober Water. This site truly revels in the beauty of the New Forest made up of forest, open green fields, heathland views and frequented by the New Forest’s free-roaming wildlife. Aldridge Hill site delights all that enter, and refreshes all who stay. Whether you pitch in the shadows of the ancient trees, next to the trickling Ober Water and Blackwater Stream, or in full view of a rich heathland expanse, you will discover one of life’s unique getaways. As you settle into your pitch, taking in all the site has to offer including the New Forest’s beautiful free-roaming ponies, relaxation will subtly work its way into your life. Once you are settled in, why not enjoy one of the many forest walks accessed directly from site. The site has 170 grass pitches, some seasonal. None of the pitches have electric hook-up points. The site does not have a toilet block.
You are recommend to follow the relaxing Ober Water Trail and taking in the beautiful scenery. Also well within walking distance of the site are Ober Heath, a favourite spot of the forest’s red deer and Whitefield Moor, a peaceful place perfect for children’s games or a family picnic. Just two miles away is the pretty village of Brockenhurst perfect for a jaunt to the pub or for stocking up on provisions.
