Set in the tranquil and beautiful natural parkland surrounding a 19th-century château, Yelloh! Village Château La Forêt is a lovely site with 259 large pitches for touring units. There are also 61 units to rent and 45 pitches are occupied by tour operators. All are on grass and fully serviced including 10A electricity; some are in shady woodland and others, for sun worshippers, are more open. The camping area is only a small part of the 50-hectare estate, with a mix of woodland, open meadows and fishing lakes, all accessible to campers. The many outbuildings around the courtyard have been tastefully converted and include a bar and restaurant in the old stables as well as a new luxury spa. Adjoining the site is a “Tree climbing park “with zip wires across the lake.

There are two swimming pools, one outdoor, the other heated and covered with slides and a paddling pool, one on each side of the château. Children will have a great time here exploring the vast, unrestricted area and sometimes hidden corners of this site in Swallows and Amazons style. The attractive small village with shops and services is within walking distance and the beaches of the Côte de Lumière are just 12 km. away. A varied programme of entertainment for all ages is provided during the season, including activities for younger children, teenagers and adults. In the evening you can enjoy concerts, dancing, karaoké, wine tasting and so much more.

Three sanitary blocks are newly refurbished and include washbasins in cubicles, with good provision for babies and accessible facilities. No motorhome service point. Laundry facilities with washing machines and dryers. Shop, bar, small restaurant and takeaway. Two swimming pools (one outdoor, one heated and covered with children’s pool and slide). Play area. Regular evening entertainment, children’s clubs and disco (July/Aug). Large adventure playground (charged). Trampoline. Games room. Tennis. Boules. Fishing lakes. 6-hole golf course and minigolf. Canoeing trips. Bicycle hire. Free WiFi. Only gas barbecues permitted. No double-axle caravans accepted.

Motorway A87 until La Roche-sur-Yon, then follow Les Sables d’Olonne, leave the dual-carriageway at La Mothe-Achard. From La Mothe-Achard take D12 to St Julien, turn northeast on D55 at crossroads towards Martinet. Site is on left almost immediately (signed).
