Woodlands is a pleasant surprise – from the road you have no idea of just what is hidden away deep in the Devon countryside. To achieve this, there has been sympathetic development of farm and woodland to provide a leisure park with a falconry centre and zoo park, which is open to the public and offers a range of activities and entertainment appealing to all ages. Taking 350 units, the camping and caravan site overlooks the woodland and the leisure park. The original, main field has been fully terraced to provide groups of four to eight flat, very spacious pitches with hedging, the majority hardstanding (90% have 10A electricity and a shared water tap, drain and rubbish bin). This field is used all season, with other fields brought into use during the busier months.

The newest field has 120 pitches (with electricity) designed with a more open feel to provide space for larger groups or rallies. Children (and many energetic parents too!) will thoroughly enjoy a huge variety of imaginative adventure play equipment, amazing water coasters, toboggan runs, the new Sea Dragon Swing Ship, a white knuckle monster, the Avalanche, and much more, hidden amongst the trees. Those more peacefully inclined can follow woodland walks around the attractive ponds. The Empire of the Sea Dragon, an indoor play centre, provides marvellous wet weather facilities comprising five floors of play areas and amazing slides. With a two night stay, campers on the touring park are admitted free of charge to the leisure park. A popular park, early reservation is advisable. A member of the Best of British group.

Three modern, heated toilet blocks, include private bathrooms (coin-operated, 20p) and 16 family shower cubicles. En-suite accessible facilities. Two laundry rooms. Motorhome services. Freezer for ice packs. Baby facilities. The leisure park café provides good value meals and a takeaway service for campers. Café opening hours and camping shop (with gas and basic food supplies) vary according to season and demand. TV and games room. WiFi throughout (charged). Dogs are accepted on the campsite but not in the leisure park (unstaffed day kennels available). Caravan storage.

From A38 at Buckfastleigh, take A384 to Totnes. Before the town centre turn right on A381 Kingsbridge road. After Halwell turn left at Totnes Cross garage, on A3122 to Dartmouth. Park is on right after 2.5 miles.
