Waterfoot is a quiet family park for Self Catering, Glamping, Touring, and Holiday Homes. It is set in 22 acres of partially wooded land developed in the fifties from a private estate. The 146 private Holiday Homes are quite separate from the 37 touring pitches (31 are on hardstanding, the remaining 6 are grass pitches). Most are level and all have 10/16A electricity. There are four Glamping Pods, four 'Hives' & six holiday cottages of varying berths, one of which is located in the local village of Pooley Bridge. Lake Ullswater is only about 400 yards away and a half mile stroll through bluebell woods brings you to the village of Pooley Bridge. Waterfoot’s touring pitches are arranged very informally in a large clearing.
There is a bar in a large, imposing mansion, in the past a family home then a golf hotel. The bar has a separate room for games, family gatherings, and relaxing. The mansion has a garden which has splendid views of the lake and is open in the evenings at weekends and for longer hours during school holidays. Public footpaths lead straight from the park. The regular Ullswater ‘Steamers’ service calls at Pooley Bridge and discount vouchers are available from reception. Ullswater yacht club is only a 10 minutes drive away, and the market town of Penrith is 5 miles. The historic house and gardens of Dalemain are a short walk away too.
