Alan Rogers Review of Villaggio Camping Valdeiva

A mature and cheerful site, 3 km. from the sea between the famous Cinque Terre and Portofino, Valdeiva is open for most of the year. Around 60 touring pitches, with 3A electricity, are in a square at the bottom of the site, some with shade and views, and cars are parked separately. There are about 80 permanent pitches on the upper reaches of the site. Camping Valdeiva does have a small swimming pool, which is very welcome if you do not wish to take the free bus to the beach. A small busy bar/restaurant offers food at realistic prices.

There was late night noise from residents when we stayed in high season. The beach is great and the surrounding village has several bars and restaurants. There are very pleasant walks and treks in the unspoilt woods of Liguria nearby or the most interesting tourist option is a visit to Cinque Terre, five villages, some of which can only be reached by rail, boat or by cliff footpath. Their history is one of fishing but now they also specialise in wines. Unusually, some of the vineyards can only be reached by boat. This is a great site for short stays to visit the Cinque Terre.

Facilities at Villaggio Camping Valdeiva

The toilet block nearest the touring pitches provides cramped facilities. The newer block is in the centre of the site. WCs are a mixture of British and squat. Accessible facilities, Washing machines and dryers. Shop (High season). Bar/restaurant and takeaway with reasonable menu and pizzas cooked in a traditional oven (High season). Small swimming pool. Play area. Excursions. Free bus to the beach. Torches required. Bicycle hire. Camping gas. No electric barbecues. WiFi on part of site (charged).

Directions to Villaggio Camping Valdeiva

Leave A12 at Deiva Marina exit and follow signs to Deiva Marina. Site signs are prominent at the first junction and site is on left 3 km. down this road.
