Alan Rogers Review of Vegset Camping
Located within forested lakeside slopes, this small, pleasant site is seven kilometres south of Snåsa. Although directly accessible from the E6 road, it is set well back on the banks of Lake Snåsavatn. There are a small number site-owned cabins, a number of static units and space for about 20 touring units on slightly sloping ground.
There are 10/16A electricity connections available. For those travelling to or from Northern Norway, Vegset provides a good resting point or night halt. However, it is possible to explore Snåsa, the centre for the South Lapp people with their own boarding school, museum and information centre.
The Bergasen Nature Reservation is close to the village and is famous for its rare flora, especially orchids. The Gressamoen National Park is also near.
Facilities at Vegset Camping
The heated toilet block provides showers, plus an accessible shower with a toilet. Another small unit has a kitchen with a small oven and double hob, washing machine and drying rack. Reception has a sitting room overlooking the lake and doubles as a TV room with a kiosk selling a small selection of groceries, drinks and confectionery (seasonal). Swimming, boat hire and fishing (licence from site). WiFi (free).
