Cleverly set into two sides of a valley like an amphitheatre, some of the pitches here have glorious views over Tuscany to the sea and across the mountains to incredible hilltop villages. Stone walls and wooden safety rails are features around the site – these are essential as there are very uneven heights to many of the steps. This site is mainly made up of glamping accommodation, but there are 17 touring pitches, which are mainly shaded and are relatively flat with a gravel/sand surface and 6A electricity. Cars are parked away from pitches. The site is unsuitable for those with mobility problems and families with pushchairs may find the 800 m. height of the site is difficult.
The very steep slopes are surfaced with bitumen for ease of movement and the terracing is designed for privacy and views. Thought has gone into the design of the beautiful restaurant, pool and recreational area, which all share the superb vistas. An entertainment programme includes a children's club, sports tournaments, pool games, live music and cinema nights. The site is useful for visiting nearby Etruscan ruins, along with explorations of Rome, Florence, Sienna and Elba. Visits to local villages (3 km) such as Scarlino are a must – the picturesque village perches precariously on the hilltop above the site and is hauntingly beautiful.
Facilities at Vallicella Glamping Resort
Three blocks (one older, two modern) have squat and British style toilets. A very difficult site for those with accessibility issues because of the steep terrain but thoughtfully designed, good facilities are near a long terrace giving easy access to the hub of the site. Shop. Bar. Restaurant. Wine bar. Pizzeria. communal BBQ area, Swimming pools. Hydro-massage. Entertainment, Play area (supervision required). Kids club, Tennis, Multi sport pitch, Bicycle and scooter hire. Internet point. EV charging points, Pet allowed.

From autostrada E80/S1, take Scarlino exit and follow signs for the town of Scarlino. Site is well signed as you approach the town and are to climb the hill.
