Deep in the Twente countryside, with its picturesque farms, hedgerows and forests, this is a truly rural setting between a charming village and nature reserves. There are countless trails for cyclists and hikers, with a number starting from the campsite gates. Try the ‘het Ommetje’ walking route of the ‘Moll’npad’, which takes walkers through a varied landscape full of cultural history with routes between 7.5 km and 10.5 km. Serious mountain bikers enjoy the Haaksbergen trail, which runs for 60 km.

This is a pleasant site with 125 grass pitches, some in secluded settings, others in open fields, all numbered and with 6A electricity. Much emphasis is put on facilities for children, with several play areas situated throughout the site and a large indoor play area on sand, ideally located next to the restaurant/bar. A small heated swimming pool has a separate area for children.

The surrounding area offers ample opportunity for walking and cycling and there is a small golf course just outside the site entrance. The approach road is a little narrow and care needs to be exercised if arriving with a large unit. The restaurant serves a good range of reasonably priced food. There is a small fun train that winds it way through the site in season. We visited the site in low season and it was very peaceful. Some areas would benefit from a little more attention.

Four well-located toilet blocks with large, controllable hot showers on payment. A good room containing baths and showers for children. Washing machine and dryers. Shop (all season). Restaurant, bar and takeaway (variable opening). Outdoor heated pool. Entertainment programme in season. Multi-purpose all-weather sports pitch. Indoor pool complex (all year). Minigolf. Boules. Pedal go-karts. WiFi over site (charged).

From the A1 take exit 28 (Goor). Follow the N347 to Haaksbergen and site is signed from the village.
