In the quiet Norfolk countryside, this imaginative touring park is a sun trap set in an enclosed walled garden. Sheltered from the winds by the high walls, visitors can relax in peace and tranquillity. Attractive mature trees, shrubs and climbers provide shade at various times of the day. The Mason family run the site in a relaxed way and the atmosphere is superb. There are 30 pitches, all with 16A electricity and TV hook-up (cable supplied), but little shade. Some are slightly sloping and will require blocks. Reception is housed in a small kiosk (not always manned, so pitch yourself and pay later).

Barmer Hall is not far from Sandringham, and all the attractions on the Norfolk coast. This area is well known for its seaside resorts of Brancaster and Hunstanton, the latter being the only seaside resort in Norfolk to face west. It is also a haven for birdwatchers as Titchwell and Snettisham are close by. Other attractions include several stately homes and for the more active golf courses are also close by. There are plenty of peaceful lanes to explore on your bicycle or take a woodland walk from the little door in the wall at the rear of the site.

Facilities at The Garden Caravan Site

The single toilet block (heated) has all the usual facilities including a toilet and washbasin for campers with disabilities. Spin dryer and iron. No shop, but ices, soft drinks and free range eggs are available.

Directions to The Garden Caravan Site

About 6 miles west of Fakenham leave A148. Take B1454 signed Docking and Hunstanton. After 3 miles turn right Barmer Hall (site signed). Road marked ‘unsuitable for motor vehicles’ but continue for 0.3 miles. Beyond Hall turn left to site.
