Alan Rogers Review

Conveniently situated close to the World-Famous Jurassic Coast, The Dorset Hideaway is an excellent site on a former working dairy farm. The emphasis is on luxury and tranquillity within a rural area. Each pitch has uninterrupted views over open unspoilt countryside, most with parking next to the pitch. The site has 118 grass or hardstanding pitches. most with electric hook-up and some seasonal. There are also domes, yurts & bell tents to hire.

Stargazing, birdwatching and spa treatments are just a few of the pleasures available onsite. Only 1 mile away is the Shaves Cross Inn which is over 500 years old and on one of the oldest pilgrim trails. Bridport has a Wednesday & Saturday street market. Charmouth beach is 3 miles away with guided fossil tours and museum. There are also many varied National Trust trails over the south west coast path.

From the West on A35, at Charmouth take 1st turning marked Whitchurch Canonicorum. Once in village, at pink thatched cottage on left hand corner, carry straight on. From the East on A35 take 1st turning at Art Gallery & turn right at pink cottage. Then in approx. 250 yards, opposite Beerhayes holiday cottages, turn left onto Gassons Lane. Stay on this lane until you arrive at site gate in about 2 miles, just after main pylon wires. From Bridport, it is single-track lanes for more miles, although wider and flatter. The B3165 approach lanes are steep and narrow with tight turns.
