Camping Lugano is a modern south-facing site leading onto Lake Lugano. It must rank as one of the better sites in Switzerland for a complete family holiday. There are 250 numbered pitches (around 200 for touring units) all with 10A Europlug and 26 have water and drainage. Trees in most parts of the site offer shade to those who prefer less direct sunshine. Cars must be left in the car park, which makes the site less cluttered and safer for children. The site is only a short distance from the airport, so there will be some daytime aircraft noise. Roads have been re-laid and a marina has been built giving full access for watersports enthusiasts.

Well placed for exploring Lugano, southern Switzerland, and northern Italy, or simply for enjoying the facilities of the site. A good, large swimming pool (supervised when busy) and a children’s pool have been added and one can also bathe from the sandy beach. The site is well placed as a stopover for those travelling between Switzerland and Northern Italy, with a Supermarket within a 15min walk. 

Bring your own canoe or inflatable too. Lawns for sunbathing surround the pools and beach. The attractive restaurant and bar overlook the playground, so parents can enjoy a drink while keeping an eye on the youngsters. For those who need to keep in touch, WiFi is now free at TCS sites.

The original toilet block (refurbished) and a modern one include a baby room and accessible facilities are heated in cool weather. Washing machines and dryers. Motorhome services. Gas supplies. Shop. Bar/restaurant with pleasant terrace (Mar-Nov). Swimming pools (May-mid Oct). Day and TV rooms. Playground. Bouncy castle and children’s train (in season). Children’s games room. One tennis court. Directions to TCS Camping Lugano

TCS Camping Lugano is on the Bellinzona-Ponte Tresa road; take motorway exit 49 Lugano-Nord for Ponte Tresa and turn left at T-junction in Agno. Follow signs for Piodella or TCS at roundabout. Cross the bridge and turn very sharp right at the Suzuki garage and follow the lane.
