Alan Rogers Review
This is a small site facing resolutely out to sea on the beautiful Doonbeg Bay and just a short walk from Doonbeg village. The site owners are happy to advise on walking routes and book fishing and dolphin-watching trips, and the Trump Golf Complex is just a short drive away. The scenery is wild and spectacular, with numerous paths and trails, especially along the coast, so boots and bikes are popular accessories. Others come for kayaking, riding, golf and surfing.
A bus service connects Doonbeg with the towns of Kilrush, Kilkee, Lahinch and Ennis, all worthy of a visit or further afield around the Loop Head peninsula. Just 20km away is the Shannon Ferry terminal for easy access to County Kerry.
The 20 level pitches, some with sea views, vary in size and are mainly on hardstanding. They are separated by shrubs and wildflowers, and each has a 16A electricity hook-up; there are four water points on site. The village has a choice of bars, restaurants and takeaways.
Facilities
One heated sanitary block has free hot showers. Well equipped laundry block. Motorhome services (a chemical disposal is planned). Small dishwashing and kitchen area. Bicycle hire. Free WiFi over site.
Location
From Ennis take N68-7 to Doonbeg. Site is located at South end of village and is well signed.
