Smithy Fields is an adult-only site situated in the heart of the village of Alstonefield. This picturesque Peak District village sits above the valley nestled between Dovedale and Wolfescote Dale. Smithy Fields is a very small site and does not accept groups or tents over 5m or motorhomes over 8m.
This area of the Peak District has something to offer everyone! From hiking the peaks or dales, exploring the pubs or artisan cafes, and wandering the traditional sleepy villages or bustling market towns. There is so much to explore you will be spoilt for choice. The site also has 2 Shepherds huts that are available to hire. Cosy and comfortable, the huts offer beautiful views over the surrounding countryside. The site has ten grass pitches, and most have an electric hook-up point.
Facilities at Smithy Fields Camping
The small toilet area is located in a shepherd’s hut; it has showers, washbasins and WCs. Dishwashing area. Pets allowed. Bar adjacent. Earliest arrival time is 14.00.
Directions to Smithy Fields Camping
From Derby on the A52 follow signs to Ashbourne. From Ashbourne take A515 towards Buxton via Fenny Bentley and Tissington. After passing Newton Grange turn left onto Green Ln cross the river Dove and immediately bear right onto Lode Lane. The site is then on the left off this road.
