This holiday park is situated on the edge of the famous Sherwood Forest in rural Nottinghamshire. It is a rustic park with numerous named camping areas separated by the river Maun and a lake. While there are 8 Static caravans and many seasonal pitches, the touring pitches offer a variety of locations, and many are separated by laurel hedges all with 10amp electricity. Fishing is available on site and nearby as is the Sherwood Forest Steam Railway. Nearby is Clumber Park and the Major Oak an 800-year-old Oaktree. Many significant improvements are planned.

With the on site lake and river, and it’s rural location and rustic nature, this site it perfect to enjoy the outdoors. You will share your pitch with ducks, geese, moorhens and rabbits in many places. A long dog walk around the site is available. A small coffee shop with limited take away food is available most weeks in the summer months. A children’s play area is soon to be upgraded. Bookings by telephone are essential for summer weekends.

Facilities at Sherwood Forest Caravan Park

Five old but clean heated sanitary blocks equipped with showers, washing cubicles. Accessible facilitates and baby changing facilities. Two of these blocks are scheduled for refurbishment. Laundry. Children’s play area soon to be improved. Fishing is available onsite and nearby. Sherwood Forest Steam Railway within walking distance. Motorhome service point.

Directions to Sherwood Forest Caravan Park

From the A1 turn west on the A6075 at the Ollerton roundabout. Drive through Edwinstowe and at the mini roundabout turn left into Gorsethorpe Lane. The site is on the right after ¾ of a mile.
