Recreatiecentrum Bergumermeer’s location beside the Bergum lake makes it ideal for lovers of watersports, with sailing, surfing and canoeing available, as well as swimming from two sandy beaches. There is also a large, heated indoor swimming pool with fun paddling pool and an indoor play paradise. The site provides 270 good sized, flat touring pitches for both caravans and tents, some having attractive views over the Prinses Margrietkanaal and the surrounding countryside, others with views over the lake. All pitches are fully serviced with 10A electricity, water and drainage, and there are eleven large hardstandings.

In high season there are organised activities, not only for children but also for adults (coffee mornings to meet other guests, evening bingo, etc). It is well worth spending an afternoon on the terrace of the Klein Zwitserland restaurant which has been built to resemble the bridge of a boat. From here with its great view over the lake, you can sit and watch the sailing boats pass by.

Directions to Recreatiecentrum Bergumermeer

Either go north from Amsterdam via A7/E22 through Leeuwarden towards Drachten, or east from Amsterdam via A6, onto A7 (Leeuwarden/Groningen), then onto N31 (De Haven/Drachten) and in either case onto N356 towards Bergum following site signs.
