Alan Rogers Review of Pencarnan Farm Camping & Caravan Park
Pencarnan Farm is a 96 acre adjacent to Porthsele beach on the most westerly point of Pembrokeshire looking out toward St Georges Channel. If you love the outdoors, then Pencarnan is for you. When the wind blows it sure does blow and when it rains it often comes down sideways driven off the sea by the wind with some force. But the upside to this is that the weather fronts move away quickly and when the sun shines and the sea is however you like it, this corner of Pembrokeshire is the most amazing place to live and play in. Two of the touring fields overlook Whitesands bay and there are two other fields set back away from the bay view with view towards Ramsey Island. The site has 105 grass pitches half of which have electric hook-up pint 16/3amp. Winner of Channel 4's 2021 TV programme “The Perfect Pitch” There are also a number of privately owned mobile homes.
Heading south, St Justinian’s (under a mile away along the coast path) is home to RNLI St Davids Lifeboat Station and a departure point for boat trips around, onto and beyond Ramsey Island to spy seals, seabirds, porpoises, whales, dolphins and sharks. Make time too for a trip to the tiny city of St Davids, to browse its shops and galleries and look at sixth-century St Davids Cathedral. The Courtyard is a vibrant, friendly space on site, here you will find a café, craft beers, wood-fired pizzas and homemade cakes.
