Alan Rogers Review of Palavas Camping

Palavas Camping is a member of the Vacances Directes group and can be found on the right bank of the resort of Palavas-les-Flots. This is a well-equipped site with an impressive aqua park, comprising three large pools, four toboggans and a spa facility. The site also has direct access to a sandy beach which stretches to the town of Sète, 5 km distant. There are 40 sunny touring pitches, most adjacent to the beach, and all with 10A electricity. There are 398 mobile homes and chalets, arranged in neat rows, many of which are available to rent. All have air conditioning as there is no shade.

This is a lively site in peak season with a varied entertainment and activity programme, including a children’s club. Palavas still has a thriving fishing industry and it’s possible to buy fish at the small harbour, at the mouth of the river Lez. It is a pretty spot, with a number of enticing restaurants on each side of the river and a captivating ‘Feria de la Mer’ each year.

Directions to Palavas Camping

Leave A9 autoroute at the Montpellier Sud exit (no. 30) and head south on D986 to Palavas-les-Flots, and then follow signs for Rive Droite, bearing right at all the roundabouts until the end of Palavas. Go over bridge and site entrance is further along on left.
