Old Barn is a small friendly park with downland views in a beautiful countryside setting. The park takes its name from the 17th-century thatched barn at the park’s entrance. Nowadays, the barn is used as a games and TV room (open Spring Bank Holiday to early September). Landscaping has provided the park with 60 sheltered pitches all with hard road access and electrical hook-up.
The site welcomes tents, motorhomes, caravans and trailer tents. Dogs on leads are welcomed, and from your spacious pitch, you can venture into the countryside on many walks surrounding the park. At the park’s reception, you will find ample information on numerous places of interest, beaches and countryside activities that the island has to offer. A supermarket and petrol station are only a 1/4 mile away. A 5-minute drive will take you to Sandown or Shanklin, with their lovely sandy beaches and seaside entertainment.
To make things easier for you site staff can arrange a complete package including ferry and site fees from either Southampton, Portsmouth or Lymington.
Facilities
The fully tiled toilet block has individual cubicles in the ladies for extra privacy. Spacious showers have ample room to change and accept 20p coins. A freezer pack exchange is available using site ice packs. Camping and Calor gas sales. Bus stop 200 metres. WiFi around the reception area. Motorhome service point. TV room. TV reception is good. Pets allowed. Dog walk. Children’s play area. Charge for pets and awnings. Tents allowed.
Location
From Ryde take the A3055 signposted to Brading and Sandown. Continue on this road to Lake. At the traffic lights turn right towards Newport. Continue past Safeways and the site is 500 metres up the hill on the right. From Newport take the A3056 signposted to Sandown. At Apse Heath go straight across the mini roundabout. The site is 500 metres on the left-hand side.
