New House Caravan Park is a quiet family run caravan and motor home park at the gateway to the Lakes and on the edge of the North Yorkshire Dales. Kirkby Lonsdale is a mile or so away, with its pretty market square, historic buildings, shops, cafes, Ruskin's View 'finest view in all England' and riverside walk to the famous Devil's Bridge. Surrounded by lovely panoramic views yet peaceful and quiet, New House Caravan Park is popular with regular season pitches and touring caravans and motor homes. The site has 25 hardstanding pitches with electric hook-up.
Following the Lune Valley downstream you arrive quickly at Lancaster, where for a reasonable charge you can imprison your loved ones in the castle's dungeons. Whilst you have some peace and enjoy its historic quay, Williamson Park and some shopping whilst having the knowledge that they are still under lock and key. Actually, it is just for a few minutes, but they aren't reading this, you are, and you can dream. Heading North up the Lune valley from the site is Sedbergh, a 'Book Town', a pretty, small Cumbrian town that thinks it is North Yorkshire, and yes lots of bookshops to browse in, a few nice pubs for lunch, an Italian restaurant, and walks, then just a little further on explore the cobbled streets of Dent Village where the 'terrible knitters' came from and probably still are.
Facilities at New House Caravan Park
Toilet and shower block with individual power showers and washing cubicles, and a separate accessible toilet and shower room. Laundry room with a coin operated washer drier and ironing facilities and separate sinks for cleaning domestic utensils. Calor gas, and toilet chemicals are available for sale. Free Wi-Fi covers the site. TV reception good. No tents allowed.
