Alan Rogers Review of Nettwood Farm
Nettwood Farm is situated in the Chew Valley amongst an undulating patchwork of lush, verdant sheep-dotted hills and wooded combes that surround the tranquil waters of Blagdon Lake. Nestled within the wider Mendips Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this is prime camping territory.
There is a relaxed attitude to life here with 20 'pitch where you fancy' spots alongside other more formal grass pitches. Fringed by some thirty acres of woodland, visitors pitching up in springtime will be treated to a fantastic technicolour show as the forest floor explodes with vibrant purple bluebells. The site also has a glamping pod, safari tent and bell tent available for hire. The site was featured on Channel 4's TV programme “The Perfect Pitch.”
The site provides easy access to the Mendips, expansive lakeside vistas, and woodland walks around East Harptree—as well as Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole. You can stroll the quaint cobbled streets of Wells or visit the seaside at Weston-super-Mare. Nettwood Farm is 210 acres of Somerset livestock farm-cum-camping retreat and is run by the lovely Griffin family; this is the ideal setting for getting away from it all with the family. Children will love this place too. The woodland copse is prime den-building estate, and when they are not busy exploring the copse or kicking a ball about the fields, there is always the resident sheep to meet.
