Alan Rogers Review
Manamansalo is a top class, ‘wild north’ tourist centre on the island of Manamansalo in Lake Oulojärvi. Arrival is by ferry or via a bridge from the mainland. This site is a real find if you are looking for peace and quiet and is also very good for families. It has 200 pitches, 140 with electricity, very attractively laid out in the forest and divided naturally by pine trees. The site stretches along the lake and has a long, narrow sandy beach. Nature lovers will appreciate the network of trails in the pine forest. Choose between walking and cycling or even skiing in spring.
For fishermen the lake is a paradise with an enormous range of fish, including salmon, pike, trout. The site’s marina has 12 guest places for boats. There is a fully licensed restaurant and a small shop on the site.
Three toilet blocks have toilets, washbasins and showers in cubicles with free hot water. Washing machines and dryers. Kitchen with sinks, cooking rings and ovens. Motorhome services. Fully licensed restaurant and small shop (from May). Playground. Canoes, pedaloes and rowing boats for hire. Fishing. Max. 1 dog. WiFi.
LocationComing from the south on road 5/E63 turn at Mainau on road 28. At Vuottolahti turn on road 879 and follow signs to Manamansalo and site. From road 22 turn at Liminpuro or Melaillahti and follow signs.
