You will get a warm welcome in English at Loisirs Ariane Camping Village, just 300 metres from the long sweep of sandy beach. It's well laid out, with around 160 good-sized grassy pitches (90 for touring), all with 10A electricity, water and waste points close by. Shade is limited, and pitches are well-demarcated by neat hedges and small trees. Everything is well maintained, with easy access for larger units and gate-controlled entry.

There are numerous beaches nearby, and possible days out include the moving D-Day Beaches, Pegasus Bridge, Bayeux with its excellent Saturday market and famous tapestry, fashionable Deauville and picturesque Honfleur. The iconic Mont St Michel is under 2 hours away, and the lush Calvados heartland, dotted with orchards and grazing cattle, is on the doorstep. The site is conveniently located for the ferry ports of Caen (Ouistreham 12 km) and Le Havre (65 km).

Scattered around the site are 90 seasonal touring pitches and there are now 25 accommodation units for hire in the form of lodges and cabins including two tents.

Merville-Franceville is between Caen and Cabourg. Leave autoroute A13 at exit 29b (Dozulé) and follow D400 to Cabourg. Then take the D514 towards Merville-Franceville. The site is signed to the left.
