This is a tranquil and spacious campsite laid out on a hillside deep in the Parc Naturel Régional du Morvan, with views over their lake, across the valley and surrounding hills. The spring water lake is ideal for fishing and swimming. There is a small bar and restaurant serving good quality regional meals and a well-stocked shop with local produce. There are 81 terraced pitches, with 63 for touring, 58 with electricity (10/16A). Recent renovations have included redesigned, level pitches overlooking the lake, fewer steep paths, a new heated, outdoor pool and heated sanitary block. L’Etang de la Fougeraie is a place where you can sit back and relax after a day exploring the surrounding peaceful countryside lying within the Parc du Morvan.
For those seeking the really quiet life there are ‘introduction to fishing’ courses when it may be possible to catch one of the summer trout or large 12 kg. carp. Fishing parties are welcome. Marked walks from the site within the forest and information on routes and local fauna is available at reception.

Heated sanitary block with family/accessible room close to entrance, but a fair distance uphill from the lower pitches. Washing machine and dryer. Shop, bar, restaurant and takeaway, heated outdoor pool (all season). Lake swimming. Fishing. Playgrounds. Paintball. Bicycle hire. Caravan storage. American RVs and twin-axle units not accepted. Chalets for rent with TV and DVD player. WiFi (free).
Location
St Léger-de-Fougeret is 10 km. south of Château-Chinon. From Château-Chinon, on D978, take D27 south for 3 km, then fork right on D157 for 5.5 km. to St Léger. Continue through village, follow signs to site 1 km.
