Alan Rogers Review
Les Hameaux de Miel is a member of the Chalets en France group, which comprises six chalet parks in southern France. Please note, however, that there are no touring pitches here. The site is open all year and has a hilltop location with fine views of the surrounding valleys and forests of the Limousin. The Etang de Miel is three minutes walk away and has received the European blue flag accreditation for its cleanliness. The lake is ideal for sailing and windsurfing, as well as fishing, and also has special facilities for disabled visitors. A children’s club operates during the peak season and various other activities are organised including archery, rock climbing and riding.
Chalets here are attractively dispersed around the site and are all available to rent. Bread and pastries can be delivered to your door each morning. The site makes a good base to explore the surrounding Corrèze area. The Dordogne and Lot rivers provide many opportunities for fishing, canoeing, walking and sightseeing. Foie gras, ceps, strawberries and walnuts are all here waiting to be tasted at the local market stalls. The plateau is divided by three deep river gorges which have provided isolation and thus a wide variation of building styles and materials. The waterfall at Murel is a welcoming cool spot in the hot summer months as is the chasm of Padriac with its dramatic 94 metre high underground dome.
Two swimming pools (one covered in low season). Play area. Multisports pitch. Volleyball. Games room. Entertainment and activity programme. Children’s club. Chalets to rent.
Take exit 50 from the A20 motorway (Brive) and then head east on the N89 to Malemort-sur-Correze. Shortly beyond this town, join the southbound D921 to Beynat. The site is beyond the town and is well signed.Link to campsite location map on google
