Alan Rogers Review of Leekworth Caravan & Camping Park
Leekworth Caravan & Camping Park is situated on the outskirts of the historic market village of Middleton in Teesdale, very close to Barnard Castle. The stunning natural beauty of the North Pennines surrounds the site which sits on the banks of the River Tees. The famous Teesdale Way cuts alongside the site joining onto the Pennine Way and Middleton village, with its country shops and cafes only a 10-minute walk away.
An adult only section with limited pitches is available, you must be quick to book these. The site has 100 grass or hardstanding pitches (some seasonal). There is also a stone built self catering cottage & glamping pod available for hire.
The surrounding area offers miles of footpaths to explore the glorious countryside, museums and gardens. Middleton village has a Co-Op and children's play park. Morrisons supermarket in Barnard Castle 10 miles away.
Teesdale in the upper reaches of Durham Dales has so much to discover and explore. From seeking out the caveman’s cave up Beck Road, to discovering the remnants of the old mines that litter the landscape offering a glimpse of a time long gone.
