Alan Rogers Review of Le Coteau de la Marine
Located to the west of the Lac de Sainte Croix and the Gorges du Verdon, Côteau de la Marine is a well equipped site with a fine setting. The site is a member of the Tohapi group and has direct access to the River Verdon and its own small harbour. There are just 21 touring pitches (60-120 sq.m), mostly with electrical connections (10A). These are situated at the bottom end of the site overlooking the river but it is quite a steep climb up to the main site facilities. There is plenty of activity in high season, with a club for children and various competitions and tournaments. There is a large swimming pool and a separate children’s pool. The adjacent watersports centre has canoe and electric boat hire.
The Gorges du Verdon are, of course, an essential day trip but there is much of picture postcard Provence in the area, including the lavender fields of the Valensole plateau and the valley of the Durance. A number of cycle and walking tracks run very close to the site and it is possible for hire bicycles in the sleepy village of Montagnac-Montpezat, where nothing much happens other than the occasional truffle hunt!

Two toilet blocks include controllable pushbutton showers and washbasins with hot and cold water. Accessible Facilities. Laundry. Well stocked small supermarket. Restaurant/snack bar and takeaway. Bar. Swimming and paddling pools. Play area. Sports field. Multisports court. Kayaking, Pedalos, Activity and entertainment programme. Direct river access. WiFi (charged). Mobile homes, chalets and tents to rent.
Directions to Le Coteau de la Marine
Leave the A51 at exit 18 and head east on D6 to Riez. From Riez take D11 southeast towards Quinson. After 10 km. site is signed south on the D211.
