Esonstad is a member of the Landal group and is attractively located on the Lauwersmeer, close to the Schiermonnikoog ferry. There is an impressive range of facilities, including an all-weather tennis court, indoor pool and indoor play barn. This open site is situated on the edge of the National Park, in a landscape of lakes, forests and dykes – ideal for wildlife and watersports enthusiasts. It extends over five hectares and comprises 129 spacious pitches (100 sq.m) all with 16A electricity and a private water supply close by. Many pitches are close to the water. There are some tent pitches on a separate field and a few hardstandings.

There is plenty to do for children, including an excellent covered playground, a playing field with a trampoline, table tennis and a swimming pool (with separate children’s pool). Close at hand are a number of charming towns, notably Anjum, Dokkum, Kollum and Zoutkamp. Leeuwarden is a larger town with many cultural attractions. The Lauwersmeer can also be explored by a regular passenger boat service, including trips to the island of Schiermonnikoog.

Directions to Landal Esonstad

Follow A28 motorway to Meppel and then A32 towards Heerenveen and Drachten (A7). On A7 take the exit to Buitenpost (N358). In Buitenpost follow signs to Lauwersoog as far as Anjum. In Anjum turn right to Oostmahorn and follow signs to Landal Esonstad.
