Alan Rogers Review

This park is in a sheltered, landscaped area immediately south of the world famous Shrine that receives many visitors. Comfortable and clean, the park has neatly trimmed lawns with tarmac roads and is surrounded by clipped trees. The 70 touring pitches are of average size on hardstanding and 52 have 15A electricity connections. There is also an overflow field. Because of the religious connections of the area, the site is very busy in August and indeed there are unlikely to be any vacancies at all for 14-16 August.

Besides visiting the Shrine and Knock Museum, it is also a good centre for exploring scenic County Mayo. Nearby are Ashford Castle and the picturesque village of Cong (location for the film Quiet Man), while Connemara National Park, Achill Island and Galway are possible days out.

Two heated toilet blocks, one dated, have good facilities for disabled visitors and a nice sized rest room attached, hot showers and adequate washing and toilet facilities. Laundry room. Gas supplies. TV rooms. Playground. Free WiFi over site.
