This Knaus site is in beautiful natural surroundings on an idyllic peninsula between the River Werra and the Werratal Lake. It offers around 220 pitches, of which 123 are for tourers, all on level, grassy ground. To the front of the site are 12 extra large motorhome pitches on hardstanding with great views over the lake, plus an area for late arrivals. The lake with its sandy beach offers opportunities for swimming and boating, and the whole area is excellent for walking and biking tours. Boat tours are organised.

Via a pedestrian bridge, it is an easy ten minute walk to the lovely romantic centre of Eschwege, with its restaurants, cobbled medieval streets and terraces. Close to the site are the Landgrafenschloss, a botanical garden and Climbing Forest for youngsters.

Facilities

Two excellent toilet blocks provide washbasins (open style and in cabins), controllable hot showers and facilities for children and accessible sanitary facilities. Family bathrooms to rent. Location

East of Kassel on A7 motorway, turn eastwards on 7 road towards Hessischs Lichtenau. Follow the 7 eastwards to junction with 27 road. Proceed north on 27 until crossing with 249 road and then follow the signs for Eschwege. Site is well signed.
