This is a large, comfortable site with almost 600 pitches, half of which are for touring. Being situated in Bad Dürkheim, which claims to have the world’s largest wine festival, it can understandably become quite full in high season. The site is arranged either side of a long, central arcade of growing vines and along one side of the site there is a lake. Growing trees provide some shade and electrical connections are available throughout (16A). There is some noise from light aircraft, especially at weekends.
Bathing is possible in the lake, which has a mostly sandy floor. There is a little beach and non-powered boats can be launched. An activity programme offers guided tours, biking, canoeing and climbing. This is essentially a wine growing region with lots of attractive villages to visit and an almost endless variety of wines to try out.
