This excellent site in a National Park beside Lake Galve is situated north of Trakai and about 35 km. from Vilnius. There are 50 touring pitches, all with 16A electricity and views across the lake to Trakai Castle, Lithuania’s former capital. By the lake you will find a private beach where you are able to hire kayaks and pedal boats and paddle boards giving you the opportunity to explore the surrounding area. If the water sports on the lake weren't enough to keep you occupied, During high season there are guided walks and weekly entertainment takes place at the on site restaurant and bar.

Vilnius has much to offer the visitor, from the old town – don’t miss Pilies Gatve (the gates of dawn) – to the new city centre. Most of the symbols of Soviet occupation have now been destroyed and a modern vibrant city is being constructed. In the old town, it is worth trying a Cepelinai (lit. like a zeppelin!) for lunch - boiled grated potatoes with meat or mushrooms. The geographical centre of Europe is only 25 km. north of the capital and is also worth visiting. The adventurous can try a hot-air balloon ride direct from the campsite over the lakes surrounding Trakai.

Small sanitary block has toilets and hot showers which are good and clean. Bar, restaurant and café in adjoining complex. Hot-air balloon and steamboat rides. Bicycle hire. Directions to Kempingas Slenyje

From Vilnius road towards Kaunas and after 25 km. near Rykantai, turn right at sign for Trakai. After 7 km. turn right for ‘Kempingas slenyje 500 m’. Once down the hill, take narrow asphalt road leading round the lakeshore to the site. Coming from Kaunas, pass Vievis and turn right for Trakai. After 13 km. turn left towards Uztrakis at sign ‘Slenis 2 km.’ and then follow the signs.
