Hamperden End is a quiet, well maintained and level site which is easy to access. Set away from the main road it is surrounded by hedging and trees.The owners have recently placed a 'permitted' path to link the site with the network of public footpaths crossing the local scenic countryside. On site there is a centrally located water tap, dustbin area and shower block with separate ladies and gents’ showers, toilets, hot water wash basins and all 15 pitches have 240V electric hook-ups. There is also an area for washing dishes and food preparation with hot and cold water. The site is a short drive from local activities like fishing, horse riding and a golf course, the Imperial War Museum at Duxford, Audley End House, as well as the historic and picturesque towns of Saffron Walden and Thaxted.

The site is a member of the Caravan and Camping Club Certificated Site Scheme. However, non-members are welcome to join the Club onsite.

Facilities at Hamperden End Caravan Site

Small toilet block with separate ladies and gents’ showers (charged), toilets, hot water wash basins. There is also an area for washing dishes and food preparation with hot and cold water. Pets accepted. Dog Walk. Gas sales. TV reception good.

Directions to Hamperden End Caravan Site

From the North. Leave M11 at Duxford (junction 10) onto A505 towards Newmarket. At roundabout turn right onto A1301 / B184 towards Saffron Walden, proceed straight over traffic lights in Saffron Walden and at the top of hill out of town turn left at mini roundabout towards Debden. Go straight over crossroads and through Debden village, at Debden Green turn right towards Henham. The site is on left after approximately 2 miles. From the South. Leave M11 at Bishops Stortford (junction 8) and take B1256 towards Great Dunmow, at traffic lights in Takeley turn left and proceed to Elsenham. In Elsenham (Crown pub) turn right onto B1051 towards Thaxted, in approx. 1.25 miles turn left towards Henham, proceed into village and turn right at the War Memorial towards Debden. The site is on the right after 2.5 miles. (Half a mile past water tower.)
