Alan Rogers Review of Greendale Farm Caravan & Camping Park
This is a delightful little adults only park set in rolling countryside, ideal for those seeking peace and tranquillity. It is very eco-friendly and extremely well appointed for such a small site. There are only 12 pitches, four of which are suitable for tents, so it is worth checking availability. All have 10/16A Europlug, gravelled hardstanding and there are plenty of water points. Lawns are immaculately tended, while flower beds, shrubs and wild flower planting add to the appeal of the site. Birds and other wildlife are encouraged. Up to 80 species of birds have been seen at Greendale. The solar heated small swimming pool is available in summer.
Information packs and displays include walking and cycle routes, pub menus and details of local markets, places of interest and things to do. Within walking distance is Whissendine Village, with its well stocked shop and a cosy dog-friendly pub that serves food.
Nearby Rutland Water is a Mecca for wildlife, walkers and watersports enthusiasts. Oakham, Melton Mowbray and Stamford are all delightful market towns with a good choice of shops, bars and restaurants.
No arrivals before 13.30.
