Alan Rogers Review
Foxholme Springs Touring Park is an adult-only park managed by an on-site warden. It would suit those who want a quiet holiday disturbed only by birdsong and passing deer. There are 76 grass/hardstanding touring pitches set either in an open, slightly sloping field or between trees on grass.
Thirty of the pitches are for seasonal use and are arranged amongst the trees. All the pitches have 10amp electricity (a few need long leads), and six have hardstandings. Some picnic tables are provided. The park is set in quiet countryside and would be a good base for touring, being within striking distance of the moors, the coast and York. There are no on-site activities. There is lighting, but a torch would be useful.
Nestling in the beautiful northern Ryedale countryside Foxholme Springs looks west across the dale to the Howardian Hills, an area of outstanding natural beauty, to the south the rolling Yorkshire Wolds and, just minutes away to the north, the North York Moors National Park. Within an hour’s drive you may reach, to the east, the Yorkshire Coast, to the south and west the ancient walled city of York, the spa town of Harrogate and the western Yorkshire Dales. Throw into this mix the area’s stately homes, ruined castles and abbeys and one of the UK’s premier heritage railways the NYMR, taking you on a steam hauled excursion through the moors from Pickering to Whitby and you will be spoilt for choice.
