Alan Rogers Review
Badenweiler is an attractive spa centre on the edge of the southern Black Forest, and is the site of the largest Roman baths north of the Alps. It is easily accessed from the A5 or B3, but far enough from them to be peaceful. This well kept, family run campsite with outstanding open views is on a hillside close to Badenweiler and the spa facilities. There are four terraces with 100 wide, individual grass pitches, 96 for touring, all with electricity (16A), water and drainage. The main building houses reception, a small shop and a bar/café which serves takeaway snacks in high season. Downstairs are further toilets and a well equipped playroom.
This small site with superb views is ideal for exploring the local area and we understand that some pitches are booked three years ahead. The facilities on site are more suited to families with younger children. The site road is fairly steep, so those with mobility problems would be advised to seek a pitch on terrace no.2, where the main sanitary block is located.
