Alan Rogers Review of Europa-Park

Part of Germany’s largest theme park and ideally situated as an overnight stop for travellers on the A5 Karlsruhe-Basel autobahn, Europa Park Camping has 200 touring pitches, all with 16A electricity. Standing is on openwork cement blocks and the access roads are tarmac. This is an open, level site and dotted around are tables and benches under cover. Many trees have been planted, although they are still too young to provide significant shade. There is a Wild West theme, with Native American Indian-style teepees and covered wagons to rent.

The site is very quiet at night and during the day the most noticeable sounds are the screams of the terrified roller-coaster riders. The site’s Cantina Amigo is open daily for breakfast and dinner until 22.00, while the Silver Lake Saloon has limited opening. For those who prefer a larger menu or who want to eat later there are luxury hotels close by. Information material for the leisure park can be obtained from the reception the Tipi Village.

Facilities at Europa-Park

Although the theme is Wild West, behind the blockhouse facades are modern immaculately maintained sanitary facilities. Showers are controllable and free. Accessible Facilities. Baby room. Shop. Breakfast room.

Follow Europa Park signs from autobahn 5 (Karlsruhe-Basel), exit 57B. In Europa Park keep straight ahead until caravan signs (take ticket at automatic gate to gain entry to site).
