Alan Rogers Review of Erholungspark Irenensee
This is an attractively landscaped site set around a shallow lake dotted with islands. With over 700 pitches, there are 161 reserved for touring units, all with 16A electricity, fresh water supply and drainage. The pitches are 125 sq.m. in size, arranged on level grass, either in open areas or surrounded by hedges. Large grass areas surround the lake which provides for swimming, sailing and windsurfing. Paddle boats are for hire, but motor boats are not permitted. One small area of the lake is separated off for use by small children.
On site there is a shop, bar, snack bar and restaurant, as well as a sound proof dance hall. Access to the site is easy – it is situated beside the B188 road. In the area there are many interesting towns and places to visit, including the International Wind and Watermill Museum at Gifhorn.

Leave A2/E30 autobahn at Lehrte, drive north on A443 to Burgdorf and follow signs for Gifhorn on A188. Site is 9 km. on the left, just past Dahrenhorst village.
