Alan Rogers Review of Droompark Molengroet

Molengroet is a pleasant, modern site, located near a watersports complex and only 40 km. from Amsterdam. It is a good place to stop on the way to the Afsluitdijk (the 32 km. dyke across the top of the IJsselmeer) or as a holiday site for watersports enthusiasts. There are 295 pitches, 157 for tourers have electricity (10A) and TV point, and 100 of these also have water and waste water points. The standard pitches are on the small side. The remaining pitches have quality mobile homes. The café/restaurant was welcoming and the prices were reasonable.

The modern, heated toilet blocks are very well equipped. The restaurant is open all season for dinner, alternatively there is a more relaxed café or snacks to takeaway. Off-site activities could include a visit to the famous Alkmaar cheese market or the Broekerveiling museum. The area offers beaches, woodland and dunes, including the Geestmerambacht recreation area.
