The Saint Cast family developed Domaine de la Brèche with care and attention. The attractive site occupies a 24-hectare estate, 4 km. northeast of Saumur on the edge of the Loire behind the levees. There are 235 spacious, level, grass pitches, with 135 for touring, including ten premium pitches. Trees and bushes give some shade. All have electricity (some require long cables). Eighty have a water supply and drainage. The restaurant (open to the public), bar and terrace provide an attractive social base and are popular with British visitors. The pool complex includes a heated indoor pool, flumes and toboggans and a paddling pool.
Domaine de la Brèche is a good base from which to explore the famous châteaux, abbeys, wine cellars, mushroom caves and troglodyte villages in this region. With numerous cycle routes, a bicycle is a useful asset. Nearby Saumur is a most attractive château town and popular with visitors. The site includes a small lake (used for fishing), and a wooded area ensuring a quiet, relaxed and rural atmosphere; in short, a comfortable holiday base for couples and families. A British tour operator uses a small area of the site.

Games and TV rooms. Varied sporting and entertainment programme & kids club (01/7-31/8). Pony riding. Torch useful. WiFi throughout (charged).

Site is well signed on the north bank of the River Loire, 100 m. north of the main D952, Saumur-Tours road, 5 km. northeast of Saumur.
