Comfort-Camping Freizeitpark Am Emsdeich is a large site in a beautiful location by the Freizeitssee. This is a natural, moderately sized lake near Westoverledingen (4 km away) with a large sandy beach. They have constructed a few wooden platforms that project over the water, ideal for sunbathing and jumping into the water. Also, it is handy for tying up your boat. Canoeing and kayaking are favourite pastimes here, as are fishing and windsurfing. There is a large restaurant ideally located next to the lake. It has a comprehensive menu including traditional East Frisian specialities dishes to try, all whilst enjoying the great views.

Here, you can also find a small camping shop that supplies the necessities to cook back at your pitch. The 350 touring pitches have 16-amp hook-up points, are well maintained and spacious with plenty of shade and privacy. This is from the neatly maintained hedges and bushes around each pitch. There are also 30 hardstanding motorhome pitches.

This is a great site for people who like active holidays (cycling, walking and water recreation). A Large playground can be found directly on the lake's sandy beach, giving hours of entertainment for the younger holidaymakers. There is also an entertainment programme during high season, which includes creative crafts, shows and games for children and live shows in the evenings for adults.

Right next to the park grounds, families and groups can try out the trendy sport of “disc golf”. The Neemann museum farmhouse is also located on the neighbouring historic village square near “Ulenhoff”.

Directions to Comfort-Camping Freizeitpark Am Emsdeich

From the A7/E22 motorway at Groningen continue on the A7 to junction 49 the border crossing, and after that it eventually becomes A280. Continue on the A280 to junction 14 of the A31 and continue on the A31 towards Leer and leave at junction 10-Leer-Nord and join the D70 towards Papenburg. Stay on the D70 to its junction with the D438 and keep right to remain on D70. At the next roundabout turn right to join Folmhuserstraße, then keep ahead onto Deichstraße. The site is then on the left off this road.

From Bremen and Oldenburg on the A28/A31 continue to junction 10 of the A31 Leer-Nord and join the D70 towards Papenburg. Now continue as from junction 10 above.
