Carnon Down was acquired by the Caravan and Motorhome Club in 2021. The founder and former owners started this site from just a field. Looking at the site today, you will find that hard to believe. This site is beautifully landscaped with areas separated by well-trimmed box hedging, low natural stone walls and a variety of well-tended trees. This large site is spread over twenty acres and into different areas, but it never seems crowded.

Reception is shared with a well-stocked shop, information centre and refreshment area, with a lovely outside area with tables and chairs overlooking the park. There is an excellent children’s play area, and around the site, there are several dishwashing areas.

The three facilities blocks are modern, spacious, with en-suite shower rooms, bathrooms, baby and toddler washrooms; all have easy level access, and the whole site is wheelchair friendly. Integrated into these two of these blocks are well-equipped laundry room’s with token-operated washers and dryers. The location of Carnon Down is perfect for visiting Truro, just four miles away with its supermarkets, shops and spectacular Cathedral. Truro is a central location that puts many of Cornwall's beautiful beaches and gardens within easy reach either by car, bus or public transport and a bus stop is located just 300 meters from the site entrance. Please note you will need to book this site well in advance to be assured of a pitch during the summer months.

Facilities at Carnon Downs Caravan and Motorhome Club Site

Two excellent modern, light and airy heated toilet blocks include en-suite accessible units. Another well-maintained, heated block consists of some washbasins in cubicles and showers (unisex). Family room, two baby sinks and full-sized bath. Two laundries with freezers. Motorhome services (ask at reception). Good adventure-type play area. Football field. Gas, newspapers and caravan accessories. General room with TV. Good dog walks. Caravan storage. No late-night arrivals area. BBQs allowed gas, charcoal & electric. TV reception is good. Bus stop 300 metres. Train station 4 miles. Earliest arrival time: 1:00 pm. Tents accepted.
