Set on a gentle bend of the River Neckar, within easy walking distance of the small
historic town of Neckargemünd and just outside the university city of Heidelberg, this well kept, family-run site offers a relaxed base for exploring one of southern Germany’s most attractive regions. The atmosphere is peaceful and friendly, with a pleasing mix of touring pitches and longer-stay guests.
The level grass pitches, are arranged along the riverside, giving a number of units attractive views across the water and surrounding wooded hills and all have 10Amp electric hook up points. Facilities are simple but maintained to a good standard, with clean sanitary blocks, hot showers, and a small service area for motorhomes. Bread can usually be ordered, and there is a modest kiosk for essentials in high season.

Despite the Neckar bridge being at high level near the site, there is no real noise and you can sit and enjoy the numerous barges that cruise past the site en-route to the Rhine.

A particular highlight is the easy access to excellent cycling and walking routes. The
well-signed Neckar Valley cycle path runs directly past the site, making it ideal for
leisurely rides into nearby Heidelberg (around 10 km), where visitors will find the
famous castle, charming old town, and a wide range of shops and restaurants. River
cruises are also available locally during the warmer months.

Directions to Campingplatz Neckargemünd

From Heidelberg take no. 37 road to Neckargemünd. On entering town go straight on and at large set of traffic lights before the bridge be in the left lane to turn left, signed Postestrass. Go down the hill and turn right, site is at the end on the left.
