Campingplatz Kleiner Galgenteich is located at about 800 meters above sea level on the edge of the small mountain town of Altenberg, which you can also easily reach on foot and is close to a sandy beach. Altenberg has an excellent network of hiking and cycling trails, a lot of nature in the form of forests, mountain meadows and the orchid meadows, a mining museum and visitor mine. In winter, the site has direct cross-country ski trails to an approx. 50 km long cross-country skiing area in the Eastern Ore Mountains. As a downhill skier, there are several lifts available in Altenberg and the surrounding area. The slopes are also well suited for families with children. The site has a natural outdoor swimming pool with water slides. You can also swim in the nearby in in a lake.

The Erzgebirge is a low mountain range in the border area of Saxony and Bohemia. The region is a popular destination, especially for hiking, cycling and winter sports. A wide range of leisure activities have developed around it. The site has 100 grass/hardstanding touring pitches (some seasonal) with hook-up point 16 amp. There are also glamping tents available to hire.

Location

From Dresdem on Autobahn 17 take exit 3 Dresden Südvorstadt and join the B170 via Dippoldiswalde to Altenberg. The site is then on the right off this road just before you reach Altenberg.
