Alan Rogers Review
Accessed along a two-kilometre long, narrow forest road, this is a very quiet and remote lakeside site that slopes gently down to the water’s edge. Most of the touring area is fairly open, with a little shade, however, views of the lake are restricted by tall trees and high reed beds. Of the 150 grass pitches, around 60 are for tourers, numbered and in an open plan arrangement, all with 16A electricity. Most of the jetties leading into the lake are reserved for boat owners, but the jetty at the far end of the site allows lake access and is used by the canoeists.
The Ziernsee lies to the very south of the Mecklenburger area of lakes, and the lakes region of Brandenburg can be reached and from there, Berlin. There is no doubt that although this region has a great deal to offer holidaymakers in general, touring by canoe is understandably a most popular and healthy way of getting around, with campsites offering special rates and facilities for canoe tourers. A beginners’ course in canoeing and canoe and equipment hire are available at this site’s main office in Havelberge
Modern well maintained sanitary facilities with controllable showers (on payment card). Washing machines and dryers. Motorhome services. Small shop in reception. Fresh bread. Playground. Volleyball. Fishing. Special area for canoe touring units with a campfire and covered table. Bicycle hire. WiFi over site (charged).
Leave the autobahn at exit 18 Röbel/Müritzand and take the 198 east to Wesenberg. Then south through Wustrow, Strasen and Radensee to Zierensee. Follow signs rather than sat nav.Link to campsite location map on google
