Camping De Barkhoorn is located in the Westerwolde, southeast of Groningen. The campsite is surrounded by vast forests and heathland interspersed with beautiful ponds. It offers camping in a tranquil setting on spacious, verdant pitches with shade to the back provided by tall trees. A car-free site, there are 152 touring pitches (including 13 comfort pitches), all with 10A electricity, and hardstandings for motorhomes outside the gate. This is a pleasant campsite, ideal for families with children and for those who enjoy walking and cycling.
There are spacious green areas and in the holidays a recreation team provides entertainment and activities. There is a large natural recreational lake where you can swim.
Adjacent to the site are a heated outdoor pool, an outdoor theatre and tennis courts. Many hiking and bicycle trails lead from the site and there are opportunities for fishing, mountain biking and canoeing. The Westerwolde area is rich in nature, culture and history. The German border is nearby.
