Camping Wittelterbrug is a well-established, family-friendly site with a central location between the Drents-Friese Wold and the Dwingelderveld. This is an excellent cycling and walking country (cycle hire is available on-site). Pitches are in long lanes off paved access roads on good-sized, grassy fields. All are equipped with electricity (10A), water and drainage (a small charge is made for hot showers).

On-site amenities include two indoor heated pools and a convivial café/snack bar serving takeaway meals. In the peak season, there is a lively activity and entertainment programme, including a kids' club with special activities such as creative crafts, workshops, dancing, and sports tournaments. The campsite is close to the villages of Dwingeloo (best known for its radio telescope, the largest in the world at the time of completion in 1956) and Diever, at the heart of southwestern Drenthe.

This region is renowned for its natural beauty, within the two national parks of Dwingelderveld and Drents-Friese Wold. There are more than 1,400 km. of marked cycle trails, and the site’s managers will be very pleased to recommend routes.

Directions to Camping Wittelterbrug

Approaching from the south (Amersfoort and Zwolle), use A28 motorway and leave at Meppel. Continue north on N371 to Diever, and follow signs to the site.
